Do you remember your first beach holiday? Such a magical time – the feel of the sand on your toes, exploring the rock pools for creatures from the deep and running away from the waves! The north Cornwall coast is a great place for a toddler any time of the year but the deserted beaches and long days make the early summer even more special!
Thank goodness the days are starting to get longer and there’s a real sense of spring in the air!
Don’t you just love this time of year! All the spring plants are wakening up to greet the world with an array of yellow and purple – what a wonderful time to experience nature and all that Cornwall has to offer!
Having a bucket list of all the things you still want to do and achieve, is a 2017 must have. So why not start as a toddler – maybe we should call it your bucket & spade list?
Having lived in Cornwall since our twins were just 4 years old, we had plenty of opportunity to enjoy their preschool years and get their bucket & spade lists off to a good start!
What a year it’s been for Bude! Following a Bronze Award in 2014 which was surpassed with a Gold Award in 2015, Bude has now been awarded the Gold again for 2016! The British Travel Awards (BTA) are particularly important to Bude and the tourism industry, since the awards are voted for by the public.
What does Christmas have in store for you this year? A bracing swim in the sea, stunning coastal walks (or beach rides) to help work off the extra turkey and pud? Or yet another “typical” Christmas – disgruntled relatives, too much food, and falling asleep in front of the telly? Perhaps getting away to a cottage by the sea could be the answer!
Here are some great deals to take advantage of the lovely October weather – perfect if you are able to holiday at this time of year or maybe just fancy a short break! The beach restrictions for dogs are now lifted for the winter, and the already good value off-season prices just got even better!
Treat yourself to a break before October 22nd – 3 nights for 4 people from as little £309!
If you are a Radio 2 breakfast show listener, you will have heard Chris Evans talking excitedly about his holiday in Cornwall last week and his challenge to the nation to “out naughty” the range of delicious foods that are readily available here!
I must say his summary was not only about the food, but pretty much it was!
If you have been following the saga, you will know that in 2014, Bude achieved the Bronze Award for Best UK Coastal Resort and last year this was eclipsed, by achieving the GOLD! You can help us do it again!
The tomatoes were extremely late in ripening this year which leads me to think that an Indian Summer could be on its way. We have had lots of sunshine recently and it is making me hopeful of plenty of more sun to come!
And as the main summer holidays come to an inevitable end, the north Cornwall coast is a great place to be!
There is something very special about twins that seems to fascinate people you meet – especially when they see two very similar sized babies in the same pram or pushchair.
Being parents of twins ourselves – a boy and girl, now 13 years old, (known endearingly as “Pink” and “Blue” and usually dressed accordingly), there was a question I always waited for when out and about.
