I have little/ no riding experience - will I be able to ride at Broomhill Manor?
We generally have around 12 ponies and horses working in the yard at any one time, many of which are particularly good for beginners, young or adult. Our horses are carefully schooled to make sure they are dependable and suitable for inexperienced (or nervous) riders.
When are you open?
Broomhill Manor Stables is open between 10am and 4pm each day except Saturday, when we are closed. The last ride goes out at 2pm although we can often accommodate special requests outside of normal opening hours – please call Helen on 07447 458075 to discuss.
Can I book in advance?
Yes you can. You can arrange your riding by calling Helen directly on 07447 458075 and she will help you choose the right riding option for you.
Is there an age or size limit for riding at Broomhill Manor?
We have a wide selection of ponies and horses of different sizes that can accommodate from toddlers on pony rides within the grounds, through to large adults weighing up to 15 st.
Can you offer riding instruction?
Yes, we can offer riding and jumping instruction with qualified instructors. Please discuss the level of Instructor required when booking, since it may incur a supplement, eg: PTT and AI Qualified Instructors will incur a £10 supplement above the published Tariff. Please call Helen on 07447 458075 for details.
Can I ride on the beach from Broomhill Manor?
Broomhill Manor Stables is located just a mile in land-from the glorious North Cornwall coast and has access over bridle paths and local lanes to Summerleaze beach. When the tide is right, we can get through to Crooklets and sometimes Northcott Mouth also. The horses become very excited when they are on the beach and love to canter along the sand, therefore beach riding is only offered for experienced riders who are aged 14 years and over. There are beach usage restrictions that apply from May 1st to September and therefore the beaches are more accessible out of season. Availability is also dependent on tide timetables, but even in the summer months, we can generally arrange beach rides a couple of times each week. It is advisable to arrange as far in advance as practical to make sure we can accommodate you. Please call Helen on 07447 458075 to arrange.
Can I just turn up and get a ride?
It is always advisable to call first to make sure you do not have an unnecessary journey and also to make sure we are able to provide the most suitable horse and instructor for you. For more information or to arrange a ride, please call Helen on 07447 458075.
There are several of us that want to ride together. How many riders can go out at the same time?
We generally have around 12 horses available at any one time to accommodate riders of varying size, age and experience. Therefore the number of riders we can take out on the same ride will depend on being able to match the right horses (and instructors) to your party. As a guideline, we can usually take out 8-10 people as a single group. Please call Helen on 07447 458075 to discuss your particular requirement.
