In-Cottage Dining

Our In-cottage Dining Service is a great hit with our guests and is back this season by popular request!  We offer a range of delicious meals, lovingly prepared by local chef Nicky Vereker, using fresh, local ingredients and delivered directly to your cottage in quality ovenware.  Could there be a more perfect end to the day?

Fresh Local Food

Being in a rural location and close to the sea, North Cornwall is very well served with a wide choice of fresh, quality foods.  The area also many attracts artisan food producers who love the environment and the quality of life that the area brings.

The town of Bude has a good selection of fresh food shops – individual businesses where you can talk to the owners who will be passionate about the source of the products they sell – the likelihood is they will have caught it, made it or raised it themselves!

Particular favourites: Lansdown Dairy, especially their local cheeses, and range of hams and olives, Lansdown Bakery – best bread in town, North Cornwall Wines – large selection of wines, beers and spirits and local wines and charcuterie.

A little further afield in Launceston (known as Lanson), and well worth the trip, is award winning butcher Philip Warren, who has turned preparing meat into an art!  Philip is recommended by John Torode and supplies several Michelin London restaurants with his excellent produce including a great selection for your BBQ!

Every Friday from May to September, there is a local market by the canal which stocks a wide range of foods from local producers, from more traditional pies, pasties, meats, locally grown vegetables through to tasty Indian food. There is also an Artisan Market on Saturday mornings in the Methodist Church hall.

Broomhill Manor Bar

Our licensed bar is open to residents only, with a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks at local pub prices.  The bar also has a full size snooker table and a wide range of family board games to keep the children entertained!

The bar is normally open daily from 6pm for you to relax and enjoy your favourite tipple!

Eating Out

The local pub is around 15 minute’s walk down the bridle path – a traditional Cornish pub, The Preston Gate in the village of Poughill (Tel: 01288 354017) – also has award-winning fish and chips! It is dog and family-friendly, run by welcoming hosts and often has live music and events. They serve a good selection of fresh food each day, including Sunday lunch. It is very popular with locals and visitors alike – booking strongly recommended.

Bude also has a range of good restaurants – most of which cater for families, many have outside seating (especially handy if you have a dog with you) and several are also walkable (25 minutes).
