“This is our second stay at Broomhill and first in Dunlin. We have loved the “upside down” cottage – and its positioning to the pool has been a definite hit! We’ve been lucky with the weather and only one rainy day really. Lots of beach time at Summerleaze and our favourite Crooklets beach. Exploring and body boarding have been great.
Favourite places: Tintagel, Boscastle and Hidden Valley. Favourite food places: Rosie’s at Crooklets and Preston Gate (15 mins walk)
Kids have loved both pools as well as tennis, and fantastic archery which we all did. We love the bar in the evening too!! Alan and Linda have been fantastic hosts and we look forward to coming back next year!“
“Our 3rd visit to Broomhill and House Cottage, it has everything we need for a lovely holiday. Our girls did lots of horse riding & made lots of friends with other girl guests. We made good use of both pools, but also managed to venture out to the beach a couple of days at Widemouth bay – plenty of parking (need to pay), toilets and lovely café. We spent a long day at Hidden Valley – better for older kids, but enjoyed it very much”
“We’ve had a fun week here at Broomhill. Lots for kids to do & the weather was perfect – not too hot! We enjoyed Summerleaze, Crooklets & Sandymouth beaches. Ate at The Tree Inn, Stratton – yummy Sunday lunch, also the Olive Tree on the canal in Bude – excellent. Life’s a beach for lunch – pretty good. We’ve enjoyed two pony rides each for the kids here too.
Very welcoming & cosy place to stay. Thank you very much!”
“We had a lovely break and enjoyed all the facilities! The weather was beautiful and we made good use of the lovely outdoor pool.
Very special evening at The Bank in Bude. Fabulous tapas in an unusual place – a bit unexpected. Great service & ambience!! Elements – wonderful views of the coastline! Great Italian food!
A big thank you to Alan & Linda for helping us with our bookings and enabling us to have a very special time together as an extended family! You have a beautiful place and the baskets & tubs are fabulous!”
“We had a wonderful stay. Broomhill Manor would have been an amazing place to stay even if the weather had been bad (which you have to expect). Fortunately it was glorious and we enjoyed the outdoor pool, trampoline, playgrounds, BBQ, hot-tub, spa, indoor pool….over and over again! My little boy had a fantastic time and has been smiling for the whole of his first holiday 🙂 Alan was so helpful and all the staff so friendly. This is such a find – a real gem of a place and we can’t wait to come back!“
“We had the best weather it was nice and sunny. We went to the beach and went into the beautiful town of Bude. I will comment on this amazing holiday. I loved the space I had to play football and all the play stuff. We also enjoyed the pool. I loved this holiday!”
Elena, age 7
“We have had the most wonderful time at Broomhill Manor. The cottage and its surroundings have been beautifully maintained and we’ve really enjoyed using the leisure facilities (pools, hot tubs, games room, children’s play room and horse riding to name but a few). Plus, we’ve been perfectly situated to enjoy the stunning scenery – not only in the grounds, but by visiting nearby Bude and going on coastal walks.
This was our first holiday as a family of three – since welcoming Oliver to the world seven months ago – and the baby-friendly services of Broomhill such as providing a travel cot, black-out blinds, baby monitors, a baby bath seat, a high chair and, of course, having meals delivered to our cottage have all made this a stress-free, relaxing and really enjoyable trip. Thank you!”
“Had a lovely time & we really enjoyed exploring North Cornwall & further afield.
Would recommend for a holiday whatever the weather!“
“Our second visit to Broomhill – it’s been another super week, even though the weather did not match up to last year!
Our family have been staying in the Manor Apartment so most of out time has been spent there.
The rain has not stopped us from body boarding or swimming in the outdoor pool. Four boys aged 5-10 years have had a wonderful time – and so have we! We will be back”
“We’ve had a brilliant stay here this week. The weather’s been pretty unpredictable so we’ve been particularly glad of the indoor pool + games rooms! The outdoor pool was surprisingly warm too even on cooler days. Enjoyed visits to beaches – Sandymouth + Summerleaze + villages – Boscastle + Port Isaac +the Otter Sanctuary. We had a lovely meal at Life’s a Beach in Bude this evening. We hope we can come back again some day soon.”
“We had a great week! We especially loved horse-riding here – would recommend a lesson for the little ones if they’re keen. The weather was a bit up and down, but we still got to see some beautiful beaches and caught crabs and shrimps in Crooklets beach.
We loved swimming in the outdoor and indoor pool.
Really impressed. And hope to be back soon.“
“What a beautiful, peaceful & relaxing venue. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Broomhill Manor – it was home from home. Thank you for making us welcome. We will definitely come back here. Thank you for having us!!“
“Lovely place and friendly people, even if the weather was a mixed bag!! Comfortable cottage, good walks. Definitely would recommend Nicky’s meals. Great meal at the Preston Gate Inn, Poughill.
Enjoyable time riding (friendly girls). Beautiful gardens to enjoy. Ran out time to use all the facilities available. Would be looking to come back in the future and recommending to friends and family.“
“We have had an amazing time with extended family. The cottages were made for each family. Lots to do for the kids. Loved the pool. Lots of things to do. We had fun days, sports days, BBQs.
Thank you so much Alan and Linda for making our holiday so much fun. “
“Lovely cottage. Enjoyed the grounds & the swimming pool. Lots of dog-friendly beaches. The best we found was Sandymouth Bay (National Trust). It was gorgeous!!
Wish we could have stayed longer!! We will be back!!”
“It’s been 20 years since we have stayed at Broomhill. We were so excited to find it has retained all its charm. Fulmar was an excellent base. We enjoyed all the local beaches and used the sea water pool! Brrr!! Our daughter was able to visit the stables and was well looked after by Ellie & Lisa on the two hacks she enjoyed. I’m sure it will not be another 20 years before we return!”
“We have a lovely few days in Cornwall and thoroughly enjoyed our first time in Dunlin. We found the cottage and all of the facilities to be extremely clean. The children enjoyed the tennis, indoor pool and games room. We will be considering a return later in the year.
A beautiful place and safe haven for children.”
“A lovely cottage – cosying up on the sofas and with all we could need – from hairdryer to porchlight, to cafetiere and wifi. So much enjoyed the glorious grounds; the circular lawn, woodland, pools, the lovely manor house in its glorious setting. And all the lanes around for exploring to St Olaf’s Poughill, Stamford Hill and Stratton. Everything is immaculately kept – hedges, lawns, greenhouses and every aspect of the cottage. We are considering a spring return to swim, improve fitness in the gym, trek the coastal walks, retreat into the characterful pubs, catch up on reading and glory in the peace – physical and psychological therapy combined! A beautiful place.”
“We had a great time here. We have come 3 times now and it has been great. PS: Thank you to Alan and Linda.
Places to go: The Milky Way, Eden Project, Summerleaze Beach, a shop in Bude called Costumes, Rosie’s Kitchen, Widemouth Bay café
This is an amazing place to stay and that is why we have come back three times! “
“This was our first visit to Broomhill but it will definitely not be our last! We have had walks along the beach and surfing n the waves. We have also been walking on the cliffs. We found a really good place to fly our kite – on the cliffs in a cow field. The hot tub in the garden was great on chilly days and it had disco lights. I also really enjoyed the indoor pool as it was so warm and the horse riding. WE HAD A GREAT TIME! We will definitely come back again”
